Gold Lion Fob Locket with Georgian Sentimental Sepia
A wonderful high carat lion fob with a secret locket compartment which contains a Georgian sepia miniature inside. The sentimental sepia miniature - whether a love token or for mourning - depicts two hearts on a plinth with gold rays above them. So curious and personal and truly one of a kind. Not sure how this very Victorian looking fob came to contain a decidedly Georgian era sepia miniature. Perhaps the locket was made to fit the earlier miniature. In any case, it is a wonderful find for the antique collector.
