Here we have a Victorian, circa 1880, gold butterfly locket-backed pendant made with such care and attention to detail it makes your heart ache. The wings are adorned with 2 old cut rubies and one old mine cut diamond. The gold has a bloomed finish, which makes it look higher carat. There is a glass locket to the reverse and a hidden bail. There is a hairline crack in the upper right hand side. It is does not go all the way through, nor is it a structural issue to the piece. Apart from that, it is in good condition, with wear commensurate with age.
